Position Summary

space150 is a hybrid agency: blending art and science, creativity and strategy, technology and the human touch, we upgrade brands to the modern world. space150 designs for the future.

As a mobile software engineer at space150 you will be a valued member of the Tech team. You will share responsibility for the full lifecycle development of mobile device projects. You will be involved in planning and estimation, working with Project Managers and Designers to define the scope of projects. You will help lead the software architecture and development efforts. Our Tech and Creative Tech teams enjoy the freedom to pick the best technologies for the problem at hand. You will help with testing efforts, working closely with our QA team. And you will help with deployment and maintenance of the applications. Team members are a vital part of the project lifecycle, and actively contribute to crafting high-quality interactive experiences.

This position is for full-time employment in our Minneapolis office. The Minneapolis development team works closely with our New York and LA offices.

Essential Functions

  • Writes clean, efficient code.
  • Passion for the mobile ecosystem and applications.
  • Competency writing software in at least one of; C/C++, Objective-C or Java.
  • Familiarity with the iOS and/or Android development platforms.
  • Understanding of networking code and concepts.
  • Understanding of memory management, optimization techniques and other common issues inherent in mobile development.
  • Makes responsible decisions that are considerate of timelines, milestones, and budget.
  • Proficient with subversion, git or other source control systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to act as part of a team environment, to show initiative and to take ownership of the team’s work.

Other Skills

  • Published applications currently available in the iTunes App Store or the Android Marketplace.
  • Open source contributions a plus.
  • Enjoys sharing knowledge with other team members.
