INNOVATING THE FAN MEMENTO Xcel Energy has a long tradition of enhancing the fan experience at the Xcel Energy Center with a charitable mission and memorabilia. The company partnered with space150 to recreate and evolve their charitable installation for Minnesota Wild Hockey fans.
PERSONALIZED LASER-ENGRAVING We designed the installation to tie into Minnesota hockey culture, recreating the installation as a classic ice rink warming house. Drawing on the idea that a puck’s natural state is in motion, we automated the entire process – from payment to dispensation, enabling fans to watch as their metal puck is selected, laser-etched, and delivered in a Rube Goldberg-esque progression.
CHARITABLE AIM The installation will create an experience that fans want to seek out, and, with full-automation, more money will be raised for charity in a shorter amount of time. The new installation is on track to break the previous installations donation record in just a few short seasons.
